LaVece Hughes is the author of three cookbooks, Generations--A Dickinson Heritage Cookbook (1993), Cooking With My Friends--Kentucky Recipes Tried and True (2003), and Best Damn Desserts from Bear Wallow to Goosehorn (2005). One of LaVece's specialties is candy-making. Each year she makes thousands of bourbon balls and other candies during the Christmas holiday season.
